JA INTENSIVE  CLASSES

Class:  New Testament
Teacher:  Dirk Hodges
Time:  Thursday, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Class Description:  This class is a survey of the entire New Testament.  Each book will be studied as a whole.  The class will include background, interpretive hints, timeline in history, cultural distinctives, and an overview of each book of the New Testament.  Two 5-page biographical studies of a New Testament character will also be required to complete the course.
Time Required Outside of Class:  approximately 1 hour/day
Grade Level:  This class will be taught at an 11th - 12th grade level, but is open to all high school students, grades 9 - 12.
Requirements/Supplies:  Mandatory parent/student meeting at the beginning of the semester (date TBA).  Grades will be given by instructor based on quizzes, tests, biographical studies, and attendance.  This is a year-long course that can be counted for high school credit at the parents' discretion.
Course Fee:  $60/semester (fee will cover building use, administrative costs, and a thank you gift for the teacher) -- fee may be broken into 2 payments with $25 due the first class in September and $35 due the first class in October
Teacher Bio:  Dirk Hodges earned his Master’s Degree in 1991 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dirk has an extensive teaching background. He has taught college level classes at Nations Training Institute in Victorville, CA, and High School level history and Bible. He currently teaches math and science for the Cleburne ISD Adult ED department, and is the senior pastor of Freedom Church in South Fort Worth. Dirk has 20 years of ministry and Bible teaching experience. He and his wife, Lori, administrate Journey Academy. Dirk and Lori have 5 children and 2 grandchildren.
